Welcome to our Parish Religious Education Program for Children

PREP is the parish religious education program for children from kindergarten to grade Seven.

The purpose of PREP is to support parents in their role as their children's primary religious educators.

Classes are taught by volunteer catechists under the direction of the pastor and the coordinator.

Classes are in session from September to May.

Expectation

Catechism classes are on a continuum. What is learnt in one year is built upon in the next. Each and every grade is important.

To facilitate growth in the faith it is important to:

• Faithfully attend classes
• Faithfully attend every Sunday Mass After the PREP program

Course Fee - There is a nominal fee to cover the cost of the books and materials: $75.00 for the first child, $100 for 2 children, $120 for a family of 3 or more members..

Preparing for the Sacraments

Baptism is the gateway sacrament. All Candidates for First Communion and Confirmation must provide proof of valid baptism.

Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion is during the grade two year. It is expected that the children will have previously completed one year of catechism.

Preparation for Confirmation is a two year program.

Additional Requirements

• Attendance at parent/child meetings
• Attendance at enrollment ceremony
• First Holy Communion candidates are required to attend the rehearsals
• Confirmation candidates are required to attend the retreat and rehearsal
